The LA Planning Department produces a monthly newsletter. In it, they report housing application data, and for the first half of 2024, trends overall are declining. Below are screen shots of the specific data tables from the Planning Newsletters themselves, so you can see the bona fide numbers sources. However, given trends can sometimes be more easily seen if plotted on a line graph, we’ve generated these snapshots. Bottomline: in a period where housing growth is crucial to housing cost relief, the production of housing appears to be slowing.
